Self Tapping
Self-tapping inserts, also known as threaded inserts, are cylindrical metal fasteners with internal threads that are used to create threads in materials such as metal, plastic, or wood. They are typically used when the material is not capable of forming its own threads or when stronger, more durable threads are required.
These inserts have external threads that allow them to be screwed into a pre-drilled hole, cutting and forming threads as they are installed. Once inserted, they provide a secure and durable anchor point for bolts, screws, or other threaded fasteners.
Self-tapping inserts come in various shapes, sizes, and materials to suit different applications and requirements. They are commonly used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, and furniture manufacturing, as well as in DIY projects and repairs.
