Spiral Bands

A spiral band is a small, cylindrical abrasive tool used primarily for sanding, deburring, and finishing inside curves, holes, and tight or hard-to-reach spaces. It consists of abrasive material—like aluminum oxide or zirconia—wrapped around a cloth backing in a spiral shape and bonded to form a tube. Spiral bands are typically mounted on a rubber expanding drum or mandrel to be used with rotary tools or die grinders.
These bands are ideal for precision work, especially on metal, wood, plastic, or composite surfaces. They come in various sizes and grits, allowing for everything from coarse material removal to fine surface preparation. Due to their small size and shape, spiral bands are often used in applications such as blending weld seams inside tubes, refining contours, and cleaning up small features or parts.
